The City will see significant growth in Redmond and surrounding areas in the next 10-15 years, which means more people will be traveling along the City’s roads, trails, sidewalks, and other pathways. To help plan for this change, Redmond is conducting a study of its key north-south running transportation corridors.
What is a Transportation Corridor? A passage, pathway or linear link between places. It supports the movement of people, goods, and services via many different modes of travel – such as transit, driving alone or with others, walking, bicycling, or using a wheelchair.
The purpose of the North-South Corridors Study is to identify solutions that improve how these transportation corridors function for a variety of travelers going north and south throughout the City.
Ultimately, the City’s goal is to identify and prioritize a set of operational and capital improvements – or projects – to improve access, safety and mobility within these corridors. Some project solutions will be planned and implemented in the short-term, while others will take longer to design, fund, and construct.
Redmond’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan describes a transportation system that “offers people a variety of real choices for how we get between where we live, work, shop, and play”. The North-South Corridors Study will help to realize this vision.
Please take this 5-10 minute questionnaire to help inform the study.
