Short-Term Rentals

State and Redmond Business License

The City is seeking feedback on a proposal to require a Redmond business license along with required State of Washington business licenses.

During 2025, staff will draft updates to Redmond Municipal Code (RMC) 5.04 General Business Regulations and seek feedback from existing and future operators of short-term rentals, stakeholders such as hoteliers and vacation rental platform operators, and from the City's Lodging and Tax Advisory Committee. The proposal is anticipated for City Council's review and action during the last quarter of 2025.

Get Involved with the Proposal

In addition to the proposal to the RMC, the City wants to develop an ongoing relationship with operators of short-term rentals. We look forward to meeting you, sharing information such as tourism promotions, and helping you ensure safety and communication tools for the occupants of your short-term rental.
