The City of Redmond hosted five public hearings on the 2023-2024 biennial budget, July 5, Aug. 16, Oct. 18, Nov. 1, and Nov. 15. The goal of the five public hearings was to gather community input about city issues, priorities, and fiscal matters before the final budget was adopted on December 6 by a 6-1 vote.

In addition to the public hearings, community members can voice their opinion about the budget through items from the audience at the Council’s regular business meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of the month or by email at bpquestions@redmond.gov. Also, there are eight study sessions scheduled in which the City Council will review the 2023-2024 biennial budget. The community is invited to attend the study sessions; however, public comments regarding the proposed budget will be gathered only at the public hearings and through the other methods noted above.

Every even year, the City of Redmond recruits a volunteer team of community members, called the Civic Results Team, to support the City’s Budgeting by Priorities process. Specifically, given the economic challenges facing the city, the Civic Results Team will play a key role in prioritizing city programs to help balance the 2023-2024 biennial budget.
