POP-UP DOG PARKS

Current Status for 2026

Pop-up dog parks at Luke McRedmond Park and Hartman Park closed for the season in August 2026.
A permanent dog park will be constructed at Luke McRedmond in Fall 2026, with an anticipated opening in October 2026. Design and planning are now complete.

The permanent dog park at Luke McRedmond will include:

Design largely based on a successful pop-up dog park
Natural irrigated turf, renovated to be a more resilient and sustainable fescue blend, designed specifically for dog parks (PT 767 Dog Park Eco-Lawn Mix with Microclover® - Pro Time Lawn Seed)
Small and/or anxious dog area
Large and/or social dog area
Double-gated, fully accessible entry system
Two separate entrances/exits with a double-gated system - main entrance on the north end of the park, and a second entrance on the south end
Universal design for accessibility
Permanent shade structures (one on each side)
Trees planted to provide future shade
5' tall chain link fencing
Benches and new picnic tables
Hard surface entrance area
Hard surface paths to shelters for universal access
Improved drinking fountain for universal access, water bottle filler, and dog water bowl
Doggi-pot stations and waste receptacles

Location: Luke McRedmond Park, 15644 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA 98052
Hours of Operation: Dawn to dusk
Shade Canopy Installation: Early June (see FAQ for more info)
Permanent installation construction beginning September 2026!

Hartman Park

Timeline: April 17, 2026 through August 17, 2026
Location: Hartman Park (west of the tennis courts), 17300 NE 104^th Street, Redmond, WA 98052
Hours of Operation: Dawn to dusk

Project History

Since 2023, Redmond’s pop-up dog parks have provided dedicated, accessible spaces for dogs and their owners to exercise and socialize. These temporary parks have helped the City evaluate different locations and community needs while planning for a permanent off-leash dog area.

Due to the success of Redmond’s first pop-up dog park at Luke McRedmond Park in 2023, a second location was added at Hartman Park in 2024. Both pop-up dog parks will return this year! Each park will be fully fenced, with separate areas for small and large dogs, and will receive regular maintenance and trash pickup.
