What is the future of transportation in Redmond?

The City of Redmond is updating the Transportation Master Plan (TMP), which was first adopted in 2005, to align with the City’s vision for the future as described in the Redmond 2050 Comprehensive Plan. The TMP is an important piece of the Comprehensive Plan.

This update will be developed using a strategic framework that incorporates the City's vision, feedback from the community, and an analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing Redmond into the year 2050.

  • Routes to Rails Community Involvement: We're excited to announce the results of Routes to Rails! The Heron Rookery Trail wayfinding signs option was selected as the pilot project we’ll implement between June 7 - 28 for the community to try out. Join us from 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 9, at the Heron Rookery Trail for the official launch. We’ll have family-friendly activities and staff available to answer your questions about transportation planning in Redmond.

We’re also implementing permanent solutions to improve your walk, bike, and roll experiences at two other locations. Based on your feedback, we’re adding a crosswalk at the intersection of 166th Ave NE and NE 79th in the Downtown Redmond station area and reducing the speed limit on Turning Street in the Overlake station area to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety and access.

  • Light Rail Disability Access Questionnaire: As part of our Light Rail Disability Access study, we would like to better understand the challenges faced by community members with disabilities as they navigate to and from public transportation in Redmond. Please share your thoughts and experiences with us through the questionnaire below as we seek to improve the experience of all Redmond residents while traveling to light rail.
