We Want to Hear from You! Share Your Comments on Draft ESAP Strategies and Actions

This year, the City of Redmond began updating the 2020 Environmental Sustainability Action Plan (ESAP) to guide our next five years of climate and sustainability work. The update builds on a lot of great efforts, including major accomplishments like Redmond 2050 code changes and the opening of light rail, while also ensuring our efforts keep us on track towards our climate goals for 2030 and 2050.

What’s happening now:

We’ve drafted proposed strategies and actions for the Five Big Moves based on months of community input, technical analysis, and the vision established in Redmond 2050.

We want your feedback! Share your feedback and comments with staff by October 3. Looking for in-person opportunities to share your thoughts or ask questions? Reach out to our team directly, or join us at an upcoming event.

  • Join us at our September 18, 2025, Meet and Green Office Hours at the Redmond Library from 3-4 if you'd like to discuss or learn more.

  • Attend the September 25, 2025 Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee at 5 PM online or in person at City Hall.

What’s next:

On September 23, staff will share community feedback and review the draft strategies and actions with City Council.

In late October, you’ll have another opportunity to review and comment on updated strategies and actions, which will be included with the release of the draft plan.

We're targeting December adoption of the updated 2025 Environmental Sustainability Action Plan.

Your input helps shape the priorities that will guide Redmond’s sustainability work for the next five years. Thank you for being part of this important process!
