Community Powered. Sustainable Solutions.

Community members came together last week for the Redmond Climate Action Workshop where they brainstormed ways to ensure we meet our climate goals through the Environmental Sustainability Action Plan update. It was the first reveal of the proposed five "Big Moves" that prioritize the highest impact strategies the community and City can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a resilient community.
Participants 'chose their own adventure,' and cycled through each Big Move to provide insights and feedback to inform the plan update. We received TONS of great comments and are excited by the growing desire within our community to learn more about climate change and ways to take action. If you are interested in helping your community create sustainable solutions for climate action, there are still more opportunities on the horizon!
- Our community questionnaire will be open until August 1. It will take about 10-15 minutes to complete and asks for your opinions and knowledge about potential climate solutions that could be incorporated into the plan.
- Community Picnic on August 23 at Anderson Park from 12 - 2 p.m. We are presenting potential actions and asking you to help prioritize! Bring a blanket and some snacks, provide your insight, and come enjoy the sun, community, and some free ice cream.
- Get a sneak peek of the proposed "Big Moves" summary, or check out the detailed version to see what's next as we prepare to finalize the plan!
