Artists of all ages and backgrounds are invited to help represent our community through your creativity and skill. To mark the 250thanniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Redmond is joining with the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in the America 250 Poster Project.
Redmond residents are encouraged to create posters that visually celebrate Redmond, civic pride, and hope for the future. Some of the posters will be printed and displayed here in Redmond to celebrate America 250, and one poster will be selected by the Mayor to be shared nationally by the NEA and USCM at public events and in their official America 250 art book.
Guidelines
Each poster should include the words “Redmond” and “America 250,” but the artwork is up to you.
Recommended themes include civic pride, historical connection, and optimism for the next 250 years.
Posters should be nonpartisan and not include political messages or inflammatory content.
Artwork should be 24 inches wide by 32 inches high.
Keep important information within a 22-inch-wide by 30-inch-high safe area.
Include a 0.25-inch “bleed” area around the outside of the artwork (the size of the artwork with the bleed included should be 24.5 inches wide by 32.5 inches high).
A 4-inch footer with USCM and NEA logos on a black background will be added to the bottom of each poster so that the final printed dimensions will be 24 inches wide by 36 inches high. Do not include the footer in your design.
